ZQ Labs Inc. (Zhishou App) is committed to strong and transparent privacy practices. This Privacy Policy describes the information collected by ZQ Labs Inc. (Zhishou App), and the ways we collect, store, use, and manage the information, including personal information that you provide or we collect in using any of our websites, apps provided on a mobile platform, or other services operated by us.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our website, mobile apps, and/or other services we provide, you agree to everything in this Privacy Policy and the processing of your data, including your personal information, in the manner provided in this Policy. If you don’t agree to this Privacy Policy and applicable User Agreements, please exit, and do not access or use, our products or Service. Please also note that the scope of this Policy is limited to information collected or received by us through your use of our apps. We are not responsible for the actions of third party people or companies, the content of their sites, the use of information you provide to them, or any products or services they may offer. As used herein, the term “use” shall mean use, access, play, install, sign into, connect with, download, visit or browse our Sites or Apps.

Information we collect and how we collect it:
The information we collect from you are important for us to help you and provide related service based on your needs. We collect the information you provide to us. When you use our websites or mobile apps, we also automatically collect and store certain information about your computer or mobile devices and your activities. Apart from that, we also collect information that is generated while using our services, for example, access logs and information from third parties when you access our service with a social media account. More details are below.
You are not required to provide the following information to us unless you choose to do so. However, the more information you provide, the better service we will be able to provide to you based on your needs. This information includes:
- When you create an account, you provide us with your login credentials, as well as some basic details necessary for the service to work, for example: email, phone number and social media for login, and your name, alias, gender, height, date of birth, constellation and city for create an account. We will also ask you to upload photos for your profile and may collect any information (including location metadata and inferred characterizations or data) contained in these files. You may provide additional information about yourself (such as your school, occupation, current city, self introduction, interests, family background, past relationships, expectations and preferences for the matches etc.) in order to build your Zhishou profile. You may also provide “special categories of personal data” under applicable law, such as your race, ethnicity, religion, philosophical or political views, and information relating to your sex life. By affirmatively providing Zhishou with this information, you explicitly consent to our processing of that information and use of it for the purpose of fine tuning your match criteria with other people. Any information that you provide in the non-personally identifiable section of your profile will be viewable by your match. When using Zhishou, you may also provide payment information (where required for the purpose of payment). We collect and process your messages with other users as well as as the content you publish, as part of the operation of the services. If you use our video chat feature, you will need to provide the Zhishou with access to your camera and microphone. We and people you video chat with may collect the content and information you make available using our video chat feature.
- SMS Messages: By providing your phone number to ZQ Labs Inc. (Zhishou App), you consent to ZQ Labs Inc. (Zhishou App) sending you SMS messages with security codes.
- Emails: We require an email address from you when you register with Zhishou apps. We use your email for both “administrative” (e.g., confirming your registration, notifying of matches) and “promotional” (e.g., newsletters, new product offerings, special discounts, event notifications, special third-party offers) purposes. Email messages we send you may contain code that enables our database to track your usage of the e-mails, including whether the e-mail was opened and what links (if any) were clicked. You may opt-out of receiving promotional emails and other promotional communications from us at any time via the opt-out links provided in such communications, or by e-mailing contact@zhishouapp.com with your specific request. However, we reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to Zhishou such as service announcements, security alerts, update notices, or other administrative messages) without affording you the opportunity to opt out of receiving such communications.
- When you do face recognition, the camera captured photos will be collected. You will be also compared with your avatar photo through the self-timer process prompted by the system to confirm that you are using the account. With your consent, we may collect your photos and videos (for example, if you want to publish a video or live on the services)
- When you participate in surveys or focus groups, you give us your insights into our products and services, responses to our questions and testimonials. When you choose to participate in our promotions, events or contests, we collect the information that you use to register or enter.
- If you contact our customer care team, we collect the information you give us during the interaction. Sometimes, we monitor or record these interactions for training purposes and to ensure a high quality of service.
- If you ask us to communicate with or otherwise process information of other people (for example, if you ask us to send an email on your behalf to one of your friends), we collect the information about others that you give us in order to complete your request.
In addition, we automatically collect and store certain information about your computer or mobile device and your activities. We may use this and other information described in this Privacy Policy to infer information, such as your interests.
- Device Information/Specifications. We collect information from and about the devices you use to access our services for us to analyze trends, administer the site, prevent fraud, track visitor movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information, including: Technical information about your computer or mobile device (e.g., type of device, web browser or operating system, IP address) to analyze trends, administer the site, prevent fraud, track visitor movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information.
- Hardware and software information such as IP address, device ID and type, device-specific and apps settings and characteristics, app crashes, advertising IDs (such as Google's AAID and Apple's IDFA, both of which are randomly generated numbers that you can reset by going into your device' settings), browser type, version and language, operating system, time zones, identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device or browser (e.g., IMEI/UDID and MAC address);
- Information on your wireless and mobile network connection, like your service provider and signal strength;
- Information on device sensors such as accelerometers, gyroscopes and compasses.
- Other information with your consent: With your permission, we might collect your precise geolocation (latitude and longitude) through various means, depending on the service and device you're using, including GPS, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connections. The collection of your geolocation may occur in the background even when you aren't using the services if the permission you gave us expressly permits such collection. If you decline permission for us to collect your geolocation, we will not collect it.
- Usage Information. How long and in what manner you use Zhishou, which services and features you use and any content that you generate through and post on Zhishou. This includes browsing and search history (including profiles you have viewed). We link your subscriber information with your activity on Zhishou across all your devices using your email, phone number or similar information.
- Cookies: We and our service providers and business partners use “cookies” to keep track of some types of information while you are visiting Zhishou or using our services. “Cookies” are very small files placed on your computer, and they allow us to count the number of visitors to our Website and distinguish repeat visitors from new visitors. They also allow us and third parties we work with to save user preferences, track user trends, and advertise to you. We use both session and persistent cookies on our Website. Session cookies expire at the end of a particular visit to our Website, while persistent cookies (also called stored cookies) remain active until you disable them through your browser settings, or until a pre-set expiration date. We rely on cookies for the proper operation of Zhishou. Therefore if your browser is set to reject all cookies, Zhishou may not function properly. Without this information, we will not be able to provide you with all of the requested services, and any differences in services are related to your information.
Third-Party Services: We may receive the information described in this Privacy Policy from third party services, such as analytics providers and advertising partners.
Other users: Users of Zhishou may provide us with information about you, including through customer support inquiries.
Information we obtain from other sources:
- Social Media: You might use and link your social media account (Wechat, Linkedin) to log into your Zhishou account or share information. If so, you are authorizing us to access and process information in the related social media account. This could save you from having to remember yet another user name and password, and allows you to share some information from your social media account with us.
How we use the information
The main reason we use your information is to help and deliver our services. Additionally, we use your info to help keep you safe and to provide you with advertising that may be of interest to you.

We do this by linking devices and browser data, such as when you log into your account on different devices or by using partial or full IP address, browser version and similar data about your devices to help identify and link them.
To respond to your comments and questions, and provide customer service
- If you contact our customer care team, we collect the information you give us during the interaction. Sometimes, we monitor or record these interactions for training purposes and to ensure a high quality of service.
To provide, improve our services and develop new features
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities
- Administer focus groups and surveys
- Conduct research and analysis of users' behavior to improve our services and content (for instance, we may decide to change the look and UI or even substantially modify a given feature based on users' behavior)
- Develop new features and services (for example, we may decide to build a new video-based feature responding to requests received from users).
- Generate summaries of your activity (for example, we may use your browsing and search history on our site to study user behavior or generate reports for you.)
- Use for Research. In addition to the uses outlined above, by using Zhishou, you agree to allow us to anonymously use the information from you and your experiences to continue our research into successful relationships, including how to create and foster these relationships, so that we may continue to improve the Zhishou experience. This research may be published in our blogs or interviews. However, all of your responses will be kept anonymous, and we assure you that no personal information will be published.
To prevent, detect and fight fraud or other illegal or unauthorized activities

- Legitimate interests: We may use your information where we have legitimate interests to do so. For instance, we analyze users' behavior on our services to continuously improve our offerings, we suggest offers we think might interest you, we offer information that will help improve your understanding of other users and we process information for administrative, fraud detection and other legal purposes.
- Consent: From time to time, we may ask for your consent to use your information for certain specific reasons. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at the address provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.
We promise we do not sell any of your information in any way.
Service providers we use
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
Such services could include Google Firebase, Retool, Google Ads and AdMob, Apple Ads, Google Analytics and other Analytics tools, Goole AI Cloud Products, Wechat, Linkedin, Twitter etc. We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties may have access to information such as your device identifier, Media Access Control (“MAC”) address, International Mobile Equipment Identity (“IMEI”), locale (specific location where a given language is spoken), geo-location information, and IP address. They may use cookies, APIs, and SDKs in my apps to enable them to collect and analyze user information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Third Party Sites
Zhishou may contain links to other websites and services. If you choose to click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s website or service. The fact that we link to a website or service is not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third party, nor is it an endorsement of their privacy or information security policies or practices. We do not exercise control over third party websites or services. These third parties may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personal information from you. Other websites and services follow different rules regarding the use or disclosure of the personal information you submit to them. We encourage you to read the privacy policies or statements of the other websites and services you visit.
How we share information
The information we collect is used to help you make meaningful connections, and provide and improve the content and the quality of Zhishou. The main sharing of users' information is with other users. We also share some users' information with service providers and partners who assist us in operating the services and, for example, legal authorities. We follow a strict vetting process prior to engaging any service provider or working with any partner. All of our service providers and partners must agree to strict confidentiality obligations. Without your consent, we will not share your personal information to/with any other parties except: (a) to provide Zhishou, (b) when we have your permission, or (c) or under the following instances:
With other users. You share information with other users when you voluntarily disclose information on the service, including your public profile. In addition, you may choose to share additional information with users of Zhishou once you have matched with them. Please be careful with your information and make sure that the content you share is stuff that you're comfortable being publicly viewable since neither you nor we can control what others do with your information once you share it. If you choose to limit the preferred audience for all or part of your profile or for certain content or information about you, then it will be visible according to your settings.
With Service providers and partners
- We use third parties to help us operate and improve our services. These third parties help us with various tasks to accomplish certain business purposes, including data hosting and maintenance, analytics, customer care, marketing, advertising, payment processing and security operations.(Providers and Partners are including: Google Firebase, Retool, Google Ads and AdMob, Apple Ads, Google Analytics and other Analytics tools, Goole AI Cloud Products, Wechat, Linkedin, Twitter etc)
- Third-Party Services You Interact With. If you access third-party services, such as Wechat/Linkedin to login to Zhishou, these third-party services may be able to collect information about you, including information about your activity on Zhishou, and they may notify your connections on the third-party services about your use of Zhishou, in accordance with their privacy policies.
- Other third parties. With your consent or at your request. We may ask for your consent to share your information with third parties. In any such case, we will make it clear why we want to share the information.
- We may also share information with partners who distribute and assist us in advertising our services. For instance, we may share limited information on you in hashed, non-human readable form to advertising partners.
When required by law. We may disclose your information if reasonably necessary: (a) to comply with a legal process, such as a court order, subpoena or search warrant, government / law enforcement investigation or other legal requirements; (b) to assist in the prevention or detection of crime (subject in each case to applicable law); or (c) to protect the safety of any person.
To enforce legal rights or Business Transfers. We may also share information: (a) if disclosure would mitigate our liability in an actual or threatened lawsuit; (b) as necessary to protect our legal rights and legal rights of our users, business partners or other interested parties; (c) to enforce our agreements with you; (d) to enforce our rights or defend claims; or (e) to investigate, prevent, or detection and take other action regarding illegal activity or crime, suspected fraud or other wrongdoing. We may also transfer your information to (a) any affiliate of our corporate group or (b) another company in connection with a merger, financing due diligence, corporate restructuring, sale of any or all of our assets, or in the event of bankruptcy.
Unless otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, Zhishou does not sell personal information to third parties. Zhishou does permit third parties to collect the personal information described above through our service and shares personal information with third parties for business purposes as described in this Privacy Policy, including but not limited to providing advertising outside of our service based on users’ online activities over time and across different sites, services, and devices (so-called “interest-based advertising”). The information practices of these third parties are not covered by this Policy.
We may use and share non-personal information (meaning information that, by itself, does not identify who you are such as device information, general demographics, general behavioral data, geolocation in de-identified form), as well as personal information in hashed, non-human readable form, under any of the above circumstances.
Cross-border data transfers (Todo: check this)
Sharing of information laid out in Section above sometimes involves cross-border data transfers, for instance to the United States of America and other jurisdictions. As an example, where the service allows for users to be located in the European Economic Area ("EEA"), their personal information is transferred to countries outside of the EEA. We use standard contract clauses approved by the European Commission or other suitable safeguard to permit data transfers from the EEA to other countries. Standard contractual clauses are commitments between companies transferring personal data, binding them to protect the privacy and security of your data.
Your Privacy Rights
We want you to be in control of your information, you may have the right to:
- Access Personal Information about you, including: (a) confirming whether we are processing your personal information; (b) obtaining access to or a copy of your personal information; or (c) receiving an electronic copy of personal information that you have provided to us, or asking us to send that information to another company (aka the right of data portability). The tools and account settings within in the services could also help you to access, rectify or delete account associated information that you provided to us directly;
- Review your information. Applicable privacy laws may give you the right to review the personal information we keep about you (depending on the jurisdiction, this may be called right of access, right of portability or variations of those terms). You can request a copy of your personal information by putting in such a request here.
- Updating or request correction of your information. If you believe that the information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, or that we are no longer entitled to use it and want to request its rectification, deletion or object to its processing, please contact us at contact@zhishouapp.com. In some cases, we may provide self-service tools that enable you to update your personal information;
- Request Deletion of your personal information. You could also delete your account by using the corresponding functionality directly on the service;
- Device permissions. Mobile platforms have permission systems for specific types of device data and notifications, such as phone book and location services as well as push notifications. You can change your settings on your device to either consent or oppose the collection of the corresponding information or the display of the corresponding notifications. If you do that, some services may lose full functionality.
- Request Restriction of or object to our processing of your personal information;
- Withdraw Your Consent to our processing of your personal information.

For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may ask you to provide proof of identity before we can answer the above requests.
Keep in mind, we may reject requests for certain reasons, including if the request is unlawful or if it may infringe on trade secrets or intellectual property or the privacy of another user. If you wish to receive information relating to another user, such as a copy of any messages you received from him or her through our service, the other user will have to contact us to provide their written consent before the information is released.
Also, we may not be able to accommodate certain requests to object to the processing of personal information, notably where such requests would not allow us to provide our service to you anymore. For instance, we cannot provide our service if we do not have your date of birth.
- Uninstall. You can stop all information collection by an app by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall process for your device. If you uninstall the app from your mobile device, the unique identifier associated with your device will continue to be stored. If you re-install the application on the same mobile device, we will be able to re-associate this identifier to your previous transactions and activities.
- Accountability. In certain countries, including in the European Union, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority if you have concerns about how we process your personal information. The data protection authority you can lodge a complaint with notably may be that of your habitual residence, where you work or where we are established.
Your Choices
- Cookies. You may be able to refuse or disable cookies by adjusting your browser settings. Because each browser is different, please consult the instructions provided by your browser. If you choose to refuse, disable, or delete cookies, some of the functionality of Zhishou may no longer be available to you. Without this information, we are not able to provide you with all the requested services, and any differences in services are related to your information.
- You can manage third-party advertising preferences for some of the third parties we work with to serve advertising across the Internet by clicking here and by utilizing the choices available at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp and www.aboutads.info/choices.
- “Do Not Track.” Some browsers transmit “do-not-track” signals to websites. Because of differences in how browsers incorporate and activate this feature, it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted, or whether they even are aware of them. We currently do not take action in response to these signals.
- Mobile Devices. We may send you push notifications through our mobile application. You may opt out from receiving these push notifications by changing the settings on your mobile device. Your mobile device may include a feature that allows you to opt out of some types of targeted advertising (“Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS and “Opt out of Interest-Based Ads” on Android). You can switch off GPS location information functionality on your mobile device if you do not wish to share GPS information.
Residents of California
If you are a California resident, you can request a notice disclosing the categories of personal information about you that we have shared with third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. To request this notice, please send your request to contact@zhishouapp.com. Please allow 30 days for a response. For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may ask you to provide proof of identity before we can answer such a request.
The rights you have
- Transparency Rights: You have a right to receive certain information about how a business collects and uses your information. Such information must be provided within a privacy policy and upon request.
- Right of Access: You have a right to request access to certain information which includes categories of personal information collected or sold, specific personal information, sources, purpose of collection and use and categories of third parties that the Business sold personal information to.
- Portability Rights: You have the right to receive the information in a readily usable format that allows you to easily transmit the information to another entity.
- Right of Deletion: You have a right to request deletion of data collected from you. Upon such request, a business must delete such data (subject to certain exceptions) and flow down the request to its service providers who must comply.
- Right to Opt Out: You have the right to require any business that sells information to third parties to opt out from selling their information.
- Non-Discrimination Rights: Subject to certain exceptions businesses are prohibited from discriminating against any of you who exercises a right granted under the CCPA and must continue to provide equal service or goods and price even if one exercises his rights.
- Authorized Agent: Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. To designate an authorized agent, please contact us as set forth below.
“Sales” of Personal Information under the CCPA. For purposes of the CCPA, Zhishou does not “sell” personal information, nor do we have actual knowledge of any “sale” of personal information of minors under 16 years of age.

How we protect your information
Privacy and security is very important to us. We work hard to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy policy, and protect you from unauthorized access to or alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information. As with all technology companies, although we take steps to secure your information, we can not warrant and you should not expect, that your personal information will always remain 100% secure and reliable.
We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks and regularly review our information collection, storage and processing practices to update our physical, technical and organizational security measures. By providing personal information to us, you agree that we may communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of Zhishou. If we learn of a security system’s breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically by posting a notice on the site or sending an e-mail to you, or even suspend your use of all or part of the services without notice if necessary. If you believe that your account or information is no longer secure, please notify us immediately at contact@zhishouapp.com.
How long we retain your information
We keep your personal information only as long as you use or services or we need it for legitimate business purposes for which it was collected (as laid out before and as permitted by applicable law), for example provide our services, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws. In practice, we delete or anonymize your information upon deletion of your account (following a safety retention window) or after two years of continuous inactivity, unless:
- we must keep it to evidence our compliance with applicable law (for instance, records of consents to our Terms, Privacy Policy and other similar consents are kept for five years);
- there is an outstanding issue, claim or dispute requiring us to keep the relevant information until it is resolved; or
- the information must be kept for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud prevention and enhancing users' safety and security. For example, information may need to be kept to prevent a user who was banned for unsafe behavior or security incidents from opening a new account.
Keep in mind that even though our systems are designed to carry out data deletion processes according to the above guidelines, we cannot promise that all data will be deleted within a specific time frame due to technical constraints.
Using Zhishou from outside the United States
If you are visiting Zhishou in international countries (outside country you registered), please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed globally, including in the United States where our servers are located and our central database is operated. By using our services, you understand and agree that your information may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it for processing as described in this Privacy Policy. Where required by law, international transfers of personal information will be supported by an adequacy mechanism.
Children's privacy
Our services are restricted to users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not permit users under the age of 18 on our platform and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you suspect that a user is under the age of 18, please use the reporting mechanism available through the service.
Privacy Policy changes
We reserve the right to change this Policy at any time. Because we're always looking for new and innovative ways to help you build meaningful connections, this policy may change from time to time.
